Am I Insane, Where Did I Go Wrong, Girls Help Me? Topic: How to write a romantic letter to your crush

Question: I work for my family. We hire this girl who is 14 and 5 years younger than me. For the 3 summer she works with me she hit on me bad. It was basically a joke in my family she had a huge crush on me. I rejected her many advances. Not before she told me she loved me a few times, jumped on me when we were closing, and she would always try to hug me. She would sneak up from behind and try to hug me, she would tell me she was throwing herself at me. I always played dumb. The culmination of this was the last week or so we worked together on the third summer. She was sixteen and I was twenty one, she told me she loved me twice, told me she was the age of consent. I refused to stay in contact with her. She seemed hurt that I refused to stay in contact with her. Six months later I got the hint from someone I broke her heart. I felt horrible, and I wrote a letter apologizing to her which actually came from the heart. She told me to basically drop dead and not talk to her. I never contacted her ever again, but not before I explained the situation to a co worker who relayed it to her. I guess? The co worker told me the girl never liked me and she was just screwing with me. I actually was in love with her the whole time but no one knew cause I knew it was wrong to be. I cried like a baby for about a week after she told me to leaver her alone, lost like ten pounds. I have been seriously depressed for a year or so afterwards. No one knows cause I finished up my last semester of college and graduated and improved myself a lot. No one knows how much my heart ached for a year or so afterwards. First summer since this happened the girl came in a couple of times at odd times. I ignored her. This past summer she basically stalked me. I think cause she has a car now. Phone calls asking employees when I was working, I got a ton of hang up phone calls, she also "randomly bumped" into my parents a few times, she came in basically every day for a few weeks. I got an anonymous facebook message saying we should be together like we always wanted this past winter. It kills me to ignore her but I realize that the only way I can win against her is to ignore her. I go nuts after I see her. Supplemental question would a girl make this much effort in trying to reconcile with me if she had no romantic feelings for me. She was leaving for college int he fall so I guess she realized she would never see me again.

That was really long but kind of a crazy story of two people addicted to the drama of unrequited love. I think you did the right thing as she was not of age but it seems like she has an immaturity in as much as, if you ever admitted to her your true feelings, she would lose interest as she appears to love the chase. The idea of being with you and content lacks the intensity of being apart and longing for each other. I would try and move on-- figure in ten years you both might have a hot affair with one another or something because it seems to me, the heat and impossibility of the relationship is what you two love. Ahhh...the one that got away. Good luck-

Women are complex creatures. First, you hurt her feelings and her pride. When you wrote that letter apologizing she may have just lashed out to get back at you - she did not want your pity after you rejected her. She may be mature enough now to where she wants to try again to see if a relationship is possible.. Or, I hate to say it, she may be just screwing with you. No help, I know. But with out knowing her personally, it is hard to say what is going on in her little brain. Like I said, women are complex - I know, I am one of them :-) As a side note, a girl that I use to work with years ago would put a lot of time and effort into screwing with a guys head - she was pretty twisted.

Strange. She definately likes you, otherwise she wouldn't be "stalking" you. She claims she loves you but that is near impossible without actually having spent time with you, which I doubt she had because you claimed to ignore her so much. But if you actually care/d for her, the best thing to do is just talk to her. Ask her what the hell is going on and figure out what you two want. That's the best approach. The longer you take to fix the crack, the weaker the support gets.

Honestly? No -- nobody would put that much effort into just messing with your head. I think that she said she never liked you just to save face, so that she didn't look like the one who got dumped, or ignored. Its embarrassing for a girl to throw herself at a guy and get the cold shoulder! So, I think she likes you, but sounds like she's kind of a nut job, so while your best bet would be to move on, if you decide to meet up with her, be careful.

You should defiantly just try to move on from her. If she isn't interested in you anymore then she probably wont be at least for a while. if you learn how to move on from her, it will help you in future relationships and in life in general. good luck
