Imagine having to say these words every day in the hope of someone kind enough dropping you a few coins.
The true way of creating awareness is making sure that people can identify with the cause and plight of the homeless.
Where do you see yourself at 25? Under a bridge in a cardboard box? Perhaps sleeping on a park bench with several centimetres of snow covering your only blanket?
No, of course not, you're not that stupid.
But did you know that the majority of homeless have not chosen that lifestyle, they have been caught in a spiral of unfortunate incidents which ended with them losing their homes.
Many are runaways, youngsters your age who have run away from abuse and maltreatment.
You would probably be completing your degree, travelling around the world or even starting your careers, but for a homeless it is different. They will continue living on the streets in cardboard boxes, on park benches or under a bridge. They will continue to busk for money, putting their bodies up for prostitution or else performing in front of the public, just so they can survive for another day'.
Something like this I feel, is more likely to 'connect' with your audience.
